A lifelong resident of Ewa

As a life-long resident of Ewa, Rose Martinez is familiar with the unique problems we face as Ewa residents. From the traffic gridlock, to the rising cost of living, working to build a better future for Hawaii and its future generations inspired Rose to run for elected office, and to use her experience in the community, the government, and the private sector, to work hard to bring that change that we so greatly need.

Mother, Wife, Teacher

Rose is also known as the other half of Flor Martinez, or "Mr. Parbangon" as he is affectionately known by listeners of his widely acclaimed Filipino radio program. Together they have a son Trystan, who is a aeronautical engineer with Boeing, who graduated from Lanakila Baptist School in Ewa, where Rose also taught science and other subjects as a teacher.

Much of Rose's passion for public service comes from her values of family, hard work, and community.

Passionate Advocate

Eventually Rose found herself wanting to get more involved in government and wanting to see change, and accepted a position in the Hawaii State House of Representatives as a Legislative Aide, where she focused on issues of housing, military affairs, health, budget, and public safety. During those years in the legislature, Rose established relationships with lawmakers and advocates, relationships that will help her get the job from day one as the Representative from Ewa. Since leaving the legislature, Rose has tirelessly sought to bring resources back to her community and fought for transportation, infrastructure, and agricultural issues, all important areas affecting West Oahu.
